Years of Service
SurexCARE operates eleven adult residential group homes in the east end of Toronto with twenty-four hour seven days a week staffing.
John Carbone Centre (JCC) is an active, stimulating environment that promotes learning and growth.
All of us have seen so many postings of empty shelves at stores. We’ve seen postings of people hoarding products and forgetting that their neighbours are also impacted by COVID-19.
On September 10, 2019, Surex hosted our 25th Annual Terry Stacey Memorial Golf Tournament in sponsorship with Berkshire Axis Development.
“Our son Chris enjoys an active social life. He takes part in many activities - music, swimming, computer games, tai chi, library visits, movies/shows, dances/parties, work duties. The staff is caring, and have gotten to know him well. At both the residence and day-program, they support and mentor him, giving him lots of space and respect. We take comfort that Surex keeps up-to-date with practice guidelines, and strives to provide very good care for Chris.”The Wongs,
“Having served on the Board for over 20 years, I was taken by Surex’s commitment to and excellence in providing client care. Surex is truly dedicated to providing a safe and caring environment for its clients and offering support to them and their families.”William Solomon, Former Board Member
“Surex is a fantastic organization that gives voice to those that do not always have a voice. It was an honour and privilege to volunteer with them for well over a decade because of the dignity that they helped their residents achieve.”Steve Mcgregor, Former Board Member
“We are glad that our son receives great support, both in the home environment, and in the activity rich day program. Through Surex, he has found his community, as well as opportunities for a happy and thriving like.”George Wong, Parent
“My son has lived in a Surex group home for 37 years. Though severely developmentally challenged, he has learned many personal skills with the help and patience of caring staff. He has and has had many wonderful people enrich his life over the years and many are still with the agency, in different roles, but still part of his Surex family and extended family. Though my son is 50 years old, he is still a child at heart and requires a safe, caring and accepting environment and help with activities of daily living. I know his needs are being met with care and understanding, which is very comforting to a parent.”Mrs. Louise Tye, Parent
